CIA Meeting October 2, 2012

Greetings, CIA Members!

Next Tuesday, October 2, 2012 will be our last meeting before the election!  It will begin at our usual time of 6:00 pm at Spurlock’s Restaurant, 721 Main Street, Lafayette. For those interested, we will be ordering from the menu. We have information to distribute. If you RSVP to lafayetteinteaparty@gmail.com, it will help us know how many copies to make.

1. Joshua Falzone, NRA-ILA Campaign Field Representative, will be speaking about his activities in the Lafayette area.  He has set up a temporary office in West Lafayette that will remain open through the election.

2. There will also be information regarding the "Vote NO to Justice David" campaign.  Constitutionally, this is a very important vote as two Indiana State Supreme Court Justices are up for retention.

3. As noted in our URGENT email on Sunday, 9/23, those of you who want to help with the Mourdock campaign, but are a little shy about going door to door, a "Postcard Blitz" is in progress.

4. Signatures are still needed on petitions to stop Obamacare in Indiana.  These petitions will be presented to Indiana Speaker of the House Brian Bosma in mid to late October.  Tea Parties around the state are continuing to collect signatures through October 14.  To sign a petition one must be 18 (voting age) and a resident of Indiana; to personally sign a petition, go to http://www.fmcoin.org. To receive a petition to collect signatures yourself, email us at: lafayetteinteaparty@gmail.com.  I have personally found that many people are willing to sign when they learn about the petition.

5.  All of this information will be added to our blogspot (Lafayetteteaparty.blogspot.com) over the next several weeks so that you can pass the word along to your friends.

Political and Media elite, either by ignorance or intention, have been pushing to knock our country off its constitutional foundation.  Despite all their perceived power, We the People punched holes in their plans in 2010. Our work is not done. Those who want to harm the America we love and cherish will stop at nothing to make it happen.  These next 40 plus days will be crucial, and early voting begins October 9.   Our voices need to be heard.  If you want to help, the last car on the Tea Party Train is boarding…all

Citizens In Action/Lafayette Tea Party

Obamacare Petitions

After the Supreme Court failed to find Obamacare unconstitutional, citizens across the country are turning to their legislators to stop the health care takeover on a state level by nullifying it. We are networking with other tea parties through FreedomMakers, an Indiana coalition.  One of the members is setting up a meeting to meet with Speaker Bosma in October to present him with petitions requesting that Indiana void/nullify the health care act.

We can only be taken seriously if our legislators see a long list of signatures.  You can push this movement forward by downloading a blank petition, and obtaining signatures. You can also email us at LafayetteINTeaparty@gmail.com and we will send you a petition by snail mail or email. It is amazing how many people sign when approached.   We are collecting signatures for Tippecanoe County and currently have more than160 signatures

We will be collecting the petitions until October.  It doesn't matter how full the petition sheets are, every name counts.  When we learn the date of the meeting, another email will go out to arrange for picking up the signed petitions.

September 4, 2012 Dinner Meeting

Our next CIA meeting will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 6:00 pm at Spurlock's Restaurant, 721 Main Street, Lafayette. As usual, we have reserved their private room. For those who are interested, we will be ordering from their standard menu. We will continue to discuss proactive ways we can get the word out about the issues as well as help on campaigns.  There are only about 70 days until Election Day...come spend the evening with your fellow patriots!

Dear CIA Members:

The failed recall attempt on Scott Walker, the nomination of Richard Mourdock, and now the nomination of Ted Cruz in Texas are significant indications that the Tea Party movement's goal of fighting for the preservation of the Constitution is not only alive, it is exploding!  Despite the huge amounts of money and power put up against us, our message rang true.  By God's grace and our determination, we accomplished much.  We need to build on that momentum if we are to be ready when the early voting begins in October.  There is little doubt that those in power will attack with even more fervor and lies.  

At our next CIA meeting, Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 6:00 pm at Spurlock's Restaurant, 721 Main St, Lafayette, we will be proposing an action plan to raise local, public awareness of the Tea Party philosophy, repudiate lies, and provide information that the media prefers to hide.  We think we can do this with a different, fun, team approach.  To pull it off, we will need a lot of people.  Let's do this!

Chuck Hockema, Republican candidate for State Representative District 27, ran an impressive campaign this spring.  He has asked to come speak about his campaign and would like you to ask him questions regarding his positions on local issues.

This should be a meeting you don't want to miss.  A private room has been reserved, and those interested can order from the menu. PLEASE RSVP to lafayetteinteaparty@gmail.com so we can accommodate those who wish to attend.

Memorial Day Parade

We have received the following from the Richard Mourdock Campaign:

Please join us on Monday, May 28 for a day of community celebration and remembrance.

To celebrate our great country, walk for Richard Mourdock with the Republican Party in the Lafayette Memorial Day Parade. 

Wear your Mourdock T-shirt or a red shirt.

Bring an American Flag if you have one you'd like to carry.

WHEN & WHERE:

We will meet up between 11:00 - 11:30 a.m.at the corner of  Alabama and 16th Streets in Lafayette.

You'll need to park somewhere and then walk to our spot in the parade line up (Alabama & 16th St)

If you have someone drop you off near Alabama & 16th St., then they could pick you up in the Jenks Rest parking lot - off Scott St.

We will be walking with the Tippecanoe County Republican Party.

The Memorial Day Parade begins at at Noon.

The parade route ends in Columbian Park.

Bring someone with you - your family and friends - and walk with us!

If you've never walked in a parade before, give it a try!

We want lots of people walking with us to show strong support for Richard Mourdock 

and our Tippecanoe County Republican Party.

To remember those who died while serving in the armed forces, 

the parade is followed by a Veterans Memorial Ceremony in Columbian Park on Memorial Island.

You are welcome to stay for the ceremony after the parade.

CIA meeting on June 5, 2012

For those of you who succeeded in your run for office, delegate, or precinct person, congratulations!!!  We are excited about  how your input will move the constitutional agenda forward.

For those of us who didn't make it this time, let us not be discouraged. Look forward to the next opportunity! The tea party movement, our involvement, has  had tremendous influence. We should be proud of what we have accomplished!  And, we're just getting warmed up!

Our next meeting is  Tuesday, June  5, @ 6 PM @ downtown Spurlock's.  We look forward to seeing you there.

PLAN TO ATTEND AGENDA 21 EVENT!

Citizens in Action/Lafayette Tea Party will sponsor an informational meeting about the United Nation's action plan called "Agenda 21" at 6:30 pm on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the Klondike Branch of the Tippecanoe County Library in West Lafayette.   Mr. Lionel Terzi, a regional coordinator for the John Birch Society, will be our guest speaker.  Mr. Terzi will answer questions at the end of his presentation and additional information resources will be available.

 For those of you who are not familiar with the term "Agenda 21," it is a program signed into action at the Earth Summit in 1992 by George H. W.  Bush along with 178 other world leaders.  Now that it is surfacing around the country, it appears to be an overreaching plan whereby local communities will be expected to comply with globalists' recommendations in regard to environmental issues relating to all aspects of living.  This plan has been advancing within the "sustainable development" movement in the U.S.  since its inception in 1992.  Most recently, in 2011, President Barack Obama signed Executive Order 13575 establishing the White House Rural Council, which consists of the heads of federal government departments and agencies, whose charge is to develop “Agenda 21” policy recommendations for rural America. Citizens around the country, regardless of their political affiliation, have become increasingly concerned about the impact "Agenda 21" will have on them as they have discovered its implementation in their communities.  We urge you to attend this very informative meeting!

Note that due to this special event, we will not be conducting a monthly meeting on May 1.

Message from Hockema Campaign

We received the following message from the Chuck Hockema for State Representative Campaign for those who might be interested.  As some of you already know, Chuck is a long-time active Citizens in Action/Lafayette Tea Party member.

Chuck Hockema is running as a Republican for District 27 State Representative,  a seat that is currently held by Sheila Klinker.  He will be having a  Meet the Candidate Night on Tuesday, May 1.  It will be an open house forum from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at the Downtown Branch of the Tippecanoe County Library.  Light refreshments will be served.  Feel free to pass this message along to friends and family.
